The Agape Letters
December 8, 2004 The Promise
In the world today, many promises are made that can not be fulfilled.
All around us we see the results of this. Broken dreams, divorce, and severed relationships.
Not too many years ago, a promise was a person's bond that was to be fulfilled at ALL COST!
Imagine making a promise to someone, a promise that would result in the death of someone you loved dearly.
God, in HIS GREAT LOVE for us made a PROMISE that would lead to the death of HIS ONLY SON, Jesus.
This may be hard to comprehend, simply because in the world today promises are made and broken without the least of care.
To make a promise and keep it is the foundation of
LIFE that God delivered in Jesus!
2 Corinthians 1:
(19) For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by me and Silas and Timothy, was not "Yes" and "No," but in him it has always been "Yes."
(20) For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ. And so through him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God.
(21)Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us,
Yes, SALVATION is in Jesus,
and Glory to God for our HOPE. AMEN!
HE Promises us LIFE and HE is the PROMISE OF LIFE!!!
To HIM who sits on the Throne,
Give Glory and Honor unto the Lamb!
For HE is worthy to be PRAISED by ALL and IN ALL!!
We are made Righteous through HIM who is RIGHTEOUSNESS!!
