The Agape Letters
April 5, 2005 Ambassador to the King!
Colossians 3:12-14
Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
Each day we as Believers in Christ are obedient is asking the Lord for forgiveness for ourselves, yet we may find it a hard thing to forgive others who have mistreated or persecuted us.
Paul realized this early in his ministry, mostly because of his earlier persecution of the Lord's disciples before he was converted.
Truly believing God and HIS forgiveness of our sinful state, we are to also forgive others believing God's faithfulness.
Failing or refusing to forgive others, as Paul stated, both inhibits our claim to God's precious promise of HIS forgiveness and nullifys our testimony of obedience to Christ.
We are greatly blessed by our obedience in forgiving others, and truly are HIS ambassadors representing God's love to them.
Clothe me in YOUR garments of righteousness, O'my King!
That I may serve YOU in obedience,
Forgiving others as YOU have forgiven me!
Now Father, I pray YOUR binding of perfect unity,
As I serve others representing YOU, my Lord!!!
