The Accountability of an unfruitful Seed!

Mark 10:12-14

The next day as they were leaving Bethany, Jesus was hungry. Seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to find out if it had any fruit. When he reached it, he found nothing but leaves, because it was not the season for figs. Then he said to the tree, "May no one ever eat fruit from you again." And his disciples heard him say it.

Many times I have considered this scripture, seeking to understand the truth Christ was implying.

All of the disciples, including Peter, James, John and Judas, were with Jesus on their journey from Bethany traveling back into the city of Jerusalem following what we know as Palm Sunday.

4 men, differing in as many ways as the seed sown with diverse fields of missions, 3 remaining faithful and fruitful, a representation of unity and completeness, Father, Spirit and Son, and 1 who being rebellious and fruitless, a seedeater representing Satan.

Jesus' hunger for something to satisfy, seeing a fig tree with nothing but leaves, is a vivid picture for Believers who are pomped and take up space in good soil having roots but no fruit.

Every Believer should be ready, in season and out of season to give an account of any and all seed which has either produced nothing or an abundance of fruit to the King of Kings!

Many weary travelers of this life are hungry, searching for anything that satisfies.

Having beautiful leaves, stout limbs and deep roots does not satisfy nor fulfill that hunger in their life!!

Jesus used a fig tree to explain by example,

the result of an unfruitful seed that grew into a fruitless and

nourishment robbing stick of firewood!!!

Worthy are YOU, my Lord, the Hope of Glory,

I have been planted by YOUR hand, nourished by

The Living Water, Christ Jesus!

May I be fruitful with YOUR supplied seed,

That YOUR Harvest will be Overflowing!!

YOU are Worthy, to be Honored and Praised!!!

Hallelujah and Amen!!!
