Are we feeding the hungry?

Jesus knew the hunger of those around HIM was more than a physical need.

Spiritual hunger for the things of God can only be filled by feeding on the WORD of God, Jesus.

After feeding the 5000 people who came out to see and hear HIM, meeting the physical need of hunger first,

Jesus proceeded to feed them with the Bread of Life.

The unbelievers will continue to hunger for more than just food for the body.

They will hunger for spiritual food as well, not having been fed the WORD of God.

Also, Jesus spoke to HIS disciples about their failure to feed HIS sheep.

When someone comes into a personal relationship with Christ, they will want to learn and know as much about Jesus as they can.

Except there be someone to teach them these greater truths and quide them to the spiritual indwelling of Holy Spirit, they will starve and look elsewhere for nourishment.

Hebrews 5:

Warning Against Falling Away

(11)We have much to say about this, but it is hard to explain because you are slow to learn.

(12)In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God's word all over again. You need milk, not solid food!

(13)Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness.

This is a reminder that each Believer in Christ needs to be nourished daily with the Bread of Life.

No Believer can continue to grow in their understanding of God without the WORD!

This is Truth, and was written for Believers to follow.

NO matter how many years in church, how many baptisms we have,

the number of Scriptures we have memorized or how LOUD we pray;

They will NEVER satisfy our hunger or allow us to grow!

2 Peter 3:18

But grow in the grace and knowledge

of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
