June 16, 2005 Be Encouraged, Brothers and Sisters in Christ!
1 Thessalonians 3:7-10 NIV
Therefore, brothers, in all our distress and persecution we were encouraged about you because of your faith. For now we really live, since you are standing firm in the Lord. How can we thank God enough for you in return for all the joy we have in the presence of our God because of you? Night and day we pray most earnestly that we may see you again and supply what is lacking in your faith.
Encouragement for Believers in Christ will only come from other believers, and will supply renewed strength and boldness in times of distress.
As Paul received this report of believers who were suffering intense persecution, these words remind us of those believers today who are suffering and need our encouragement.
Never to be left to suffer alone, Believers in Christ must continually pray for Holy Spirit to reveal what is needed by those who are standing firm in the Lord in ministry.
We have JOY in the Lord, thanking God in knowing this, during distress, persecutions and sufferings, our faith in Christ remains the foundation which can never be shaken, and will not be moved without resistance.
O' Lord, YOU keep me safe night and day,
for YOUR Glory surrounds me when I am distressed!
There are others whom I must encourage,
Through many trials and dangers they have continued
Standing firm, Holding fast to YOU!!
By Faith, believing every good and perfect thing
Comes only from YOU, Supplying my every need
Bringing renewed STRENGTH, HOPE and JOY to my heart!!!
