Be COMMENDABLE before a Righteous God!

1 Peter 2:20-21 NIV

But how is it to your credit if you receive a beating for doing wrong and endure it? But if you suffer for doing good and you endure it, this is commendable before God. To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.

As Peter was writing these words, he was reminded of the piercing WORDs of Christ, "You will suffer many things for my namesake".

Unless we as Believers in Christ have somehow drifted into a sense of complacency and staleness in our relationship with HIM, we TOO WILL SUFFER!

The credit for our sufferings belongs to Christ, that in HIM are we sustained with HIS Promise of Eternal rest from persecution!

Looking for the path of least resistance and opposition to our committment of FAITH, is not quite the journey that Peter had in mind!

Yes, we at times may be as Peter was during the early hours of Jesus' arrest and questioning, standing in the Shadows, being unrecognizable as a Believer in Christ, hiding in fear,

OR!

WE could step into the LIGHT, being a witness for HIM who SUFFERED and DIED for US, giving ALL Glory to a HOLY and Loving God!!!

Father, according to YOUR WORD, I will see sufferings,

Being accused of having Faith in Christ and HIS Resurrection!

Strengthen me every hour,

with Holy Spirit POWER,

to stand openly and FEARLESSLY for YOUR Glory!!

YOU, and YOU alone are WORTHY, O' Lord,

to receive HONOR, PRAISE and ADORATION!!!
