May 6, 2005 The Gospel of Christ, satisfying spiritual food!
1 Corinthians 9:11-13
If we have sown spiritual seed among you, is it too much if we reap a material harvest from you? If others have this right of support from you, shouldn't we have it all the more? But we did not use this right. On the contrary, we put up with anything rather than hinder the gospel of Christ. Don't you know that those who work in the temple get their food from the temple, and those who serve at the altar share in what is offered on the altar?
As Believers in Christ, before transformation we hungered after answers to questions that could not be answered by the things of the flesh.
It is only after receiving the knowledge of the gospel and the spiritual renewal that comes from Holy Spirit, do we understand how Christ satisfies our hunger for true love from our Heavenly Father.
Even though Paul was speaking to the church at Corinth about their support financially for the spreading of the gospel of Christ, an even deeper spiritual truth can be found in these verses.
When those who are called to serve Jehovah God with every area of their life, things of the world have less value and therefore are not a hindrance to them and their service.
As Paul said, do not those who serve in the temple and offer the sacrifices get rewarded for serving God?
Our daily nourishment comes both from the foods that we digest and the Bread of Life that we consume, by feasting on God's WORD and HIS revelation into our understanding through Holy Spirit.
Like Paul, we must continue feeding our desire for more nourishment from God' WORD, in order that we may value spiritual blessings over material.
O' Lord, that I will always value YOUR WORD,
as a Great and Unmatched Treasure!
Having YOUR Blessing of both material and
Spiritual, I value spiritual which is forever!!
May I serve YOU with all that I have,
That a hindrance to the gospel I will never be!!!
