23 Cheshvan 5766 HE even Rescues the drowning!
Mark 4:35-41 NIV
That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, "Let us go over to the other side." Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him,
He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, "Quiet! Be still!" Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. He said to his disciples,
They were terrified and asked each other, "Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!"
Believers in Christ have many situations that appear as this one the disciples were facing in these scriptures of the Gospel according to Mark.
Even as they were with Christ then, having been for some time and even seen great and wondrous miracles performed, the disciples were still fearful against the enemy that was working against the revelation of the TRUTH of God to mankind.
Realizing just one TRUTH, Yes, Christ does care that we do not drown in a sea of sin, but come to HIM, just as the disciples did, to be SAVED from utter and certain harm and even death.
Becoming like Christ, each believer has to be strengthened continuously in FAITH, having Holy Spirit's POWER and AUTHORITY over all, even to the speaking of HIS WORD against wickedness which comes up to swamp our LIFEboat of HOPE, our FAITH in Christ, with the intent of taking every VICTORY, whether present or future, away from us, robbing us of our JOY and STRENGTH in HIM!
Amen!!!
