28 Cheshvan 5766 Suffer us to Pray!
Hebrews 5:7-9 NIV
During the days of Jesus' life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission. Although he was a son, he learned obedience from what he suffered and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him.
Believers in Christ know that prayer is a constant discipline that is needed to gain direction, appointment and favor from our heavenly Father.
Many cries will be lifted up before HIM during a lifetime, only for some to fall before they reach the ears of a loving and merciful God, who is Holy and Righteous.
Many tears will be shed during those times of trials and trouble, throughout our lifetime on earth, only for some to be dried up before they reach the ground upon which we stand.
Where Christ stood in the garden, that early morning scene prior to HIS arrest, with a reverent and submissive heart, desiring only the perfect will of HIS Father to manifest in HIS life, is a symbolic picture of where many believers stand, but never leave, where obedience to Father's will never comes.
God's WORD says that HIS obedience was learned as a result from the suffering which HE endured for us, yet as we pray intently for our sufferings to be erased from our path, we give no thought to what we can learn by our own enduring of these same sufferings.
We must also bear, as Jesus told Peter, these same trials, that death to ourself, to be Gloriously resurrected in Christ by Holy Spirit, to walk victoriously through future sufferings with the knowledge that HE alone is to be our source for salvation;
Father, YOUR will for me is to learn!
My salvation comes only,
from YOUR Holy Son!!
I learn from HIM,
to pray, then obey!!!
Amen!!!
