21 Tishri 5766 Which Generation are YOU?
Matthew 24:4-14 NIV
Jesus answered: "Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am the Christ,' and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains.
"Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
Have we as Believers in Christ been deceived by a wicked generation filled with hatred, lies and ridicule?
No doubt, there are many who profess that this generation of believers are much like the those who, during the days of the Prophet Joshua were expecting God to vindicate their constant persecutions with a monumentuous and overwhelming victory over wickedness and all manner of evil!
A Joshua generation, raised up by God, for THAT one last confrontation?
But, WHAT IF?
What if today's generation of Believers in Christ were to be compared to the faithful and obedient Prophet of God, Elijah?
Would we then, be more concerned about the short time that is left before Christ 2nd coming, and be doing HIS will rather than our own?
Concerned enough in believing HIS promise, that we would not see a physical death, but be delivered into HIS Glorious presence, just as Elijah was?
Bold enough to be the testimony to a lost and dying world of people, having no hope whatsoever for salvation without faith in Christ, and obedience to God's Holy Spirit in directing our journey each minute of every day?
The Prophet Elijah, he knew Christ to be the only one who is able to save us,
When the end DOES come, and not IF it comes!
A generation of Elijah believers, it's one thing to be deceived, it's another to know you have been deceived and do nothing about it!!!
Father, I give YOU thanks!
YOU are Holy, and worthy of all my praise!!
By the Power of Holy Spirit,
I will stand firm 'till the end!!!
Amen
