2 Elul 5765 A Believer's Portrait!
Philippians 2:13-16 (Amplified Bible)
[Not in your own strength] for it is God Who is all the while effectually at work in you [energizing and creating in you the power and desire], both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and delight.
Do all things without grumbling and faultfinding and complaining [against God] and questioning and doubting [among yourselves],
That you may show yourselves to be blameless and guiltless, innocent and uncontaminated, children of God without blemish (faultless, unrebukable) in the midst of a crooked and wicked generation [spiritually perverted and perverse], among whom you are seen as bright lights (stars or beacons shining out clearly) in the [dark] world,
Holding out [to it] and offering [to all men] the Word of Life, so that in the day of Christ I may have something of which exultantly to rejoice and glory in that I did not run my race in vain or spend my labor to no purpose.
In his letter to the Believers in Phillipi, the Apostle Paul places emphasis on the nature and character by which all believers should desire.
Holy Spirit resides within each true Believer in Christ, and as we desire to be Righteous and Holy, we are portraying to the world a joyful life with Power and Hope.
The WORD of Life, Christ Jesus, must be offered to those around us, not only the hurting and lonely, but also those who have placed their faith and hope in the things of this world.
Only by placing our complete trust in Christ, as Lord and Savior, and then submitting to Holy Spirit for guidance, counsel and sustenance while in the midst of a perverse generation that surrounds us daily from every direction.
O' Lord, my God, work YOUR will in me,
For I desire YOUR ways for my life!
In YOU am I made whole!!
I must bring the hurting and lonely,
the lost, who are without direction,
to YOU Lord, for YOU alone are Salvation!!!
Amen
