"6 Jars!"
Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons.
Jesus said to the servants,
Then he told them,
They did so, and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside and said,
Understanding of God's WORD is dependent upon continued revelation, or revealing, by Holy Spirit. HIM being given to Believers which allows us to gain knowledge of many things concerning Christ and the Kingdom of God.
The number 6, which many agree represents man, is a picture of how Christ takes empty vessels(implying without HOPE), and fills them(empty vessels are void of life) with HIS WORD. An even more miraculous revelation is that Holy Spirit is many times refered to as wine, as we understand fruit of The Vine.
As this scene unfolds, several different meanings can apply, not one being any more relevant than another. What happens in our hearts when Christ is allowed to dwell in the person of Holy Spirit, is a miracle that has astounded man for 2000 years.
As the Master of the banquet has seen many times before, the guest of honor has offered the cheap wine to his guest after they have become drunk, having gourged themselves with excess as if there were no tomorrow.
Seeing that the BEST or CHOICE wine has been given or poured out to those who are chosen attendees, and nearing the END of this long awaited ceremony, portrays for us, the favor we as Believers in Christ have in the sight of Jehovah God, the MASTER of HIS Glorious banquet, given in honor of HIS Son, the Bridegroom of Heaven.
We must remain Faithful to Christ, and never look to any other source for our Hope and Joy, as so many have in past times, left before the GOOD STUFF is being POURED OUT into the lives of those who have REMAINED(Remnant)!
