Growing UP in HIM!

Luke 2:52 NLT

So Jesus grew both in height and in wisdom, and he was loved by God and by all who knew him.

Each Believer in Christ must be an imitator of HIM, a likeness which is REFLECTIVE of the ORIGINAL SOURCE, including, but not limited to IDENTITY or PORTRAYAL!

The Apostle Luke recorded meticuously, extensively detailing the LIFE of Christ Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

Depicting HIS GROWTH, from adolesence to young adulthood, into HIS ministry, death, burial, resurrection and ascension, the Apostle Luke paints for us 2000 years later, a portrait of the Son of God.

Familiar with Leonardo Da Vinci's Mona Lisa, supposedly a self portrait, I am reminded that few, if any have ever achieved such greatness as he. What Da Vinci could not afford us with his works,

Christ Jesus HAS!!!

In my daily quest becoming more like Christ, more HIM than me, the Apostle Luke writes clearly and without reservation in Chapter 22 and Verses 35-38;

Then Jesus asked them, "When I sent you out to preach the Good News and you did not have money, a traveler's bag, or extra clothing, did you lack anything?"

"No," they replied.

"But now," he said, "take your money and a traveler's bag. And if you don't have a sword, sell your clothes and buy one! For the time has come for this prophecy about me to be fulfilled: `He was counted among those who were rebels.' Yes, everything written about me by the prophets will come true."

"Lord," they replied, "we have two swords among us."
"That's enough," he said.

O'Lord, that I may be in every way like YOU!
Drawn forth from among many, to grow and serve
in YOUR army of warriors!!
Equipped with SWORD, not dagger,
I will faithfully excute YOUR every command,
Standing, Growing, Facing every enemy in battle!!!
YOU will be Honored, Glorified and Praised,
Forever and Forever, Amen!!!
