"Relatives!"

 

"Family, Friends and God!"

 

Matthew 4:18-22 (New International Version)

As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men." At once they left their nets and followed him. Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them, and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.

What is it that the Lord desires for me to learn from these WORDs?

Brothers, sisters and cousins, all are relatives because of their natural birth, and with their Spiritual birth in Christ made evident by their choice to follow HIM, then what a great joy I now have knowing that my friends and loved ones answered HIS call and are faithfully serving God.

I have so many friends and family, serving God with their lives, that I can almost read their names into these passages written by the Apostle Matthew.

To know that not only are they my spiritual brothers, sisters and cousins, but they are also my dearest friends because of Christ as well!

Jesus did say that the world would know us, and that we belong to HIM by our LOVE for each other.

 

O'Lord, it is YOUR Love that I hear,
a sound so sweet, that I must follow!
Born as a son, into YOUR family of Promise,
a delivered child with new LIFE from YOU!!
Breathe deeply into me Holy Spirit of God,
WORDs that tell others, God's Love is real!!!
