"A Powerful Urgency!"

"Committment of Faith!"

Acts 11:23-24 (New International Version)

When he arrived and saw the evidence of the grace of God, he was glad and encouraged them all to remain true to the Lord with all their hearts. He was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith, and a great number of people were brought to the Lord.

The Apostle Luke wrote much about the early church and those leaders who fearlessly preached the everlasting Gospel of Christ, and despite the overwhelming oppression and sometimes deadly circumstances which they faced daily, continuing faithfully in their mission serving God.

I am so burdened by the very fact that without such opposition, and most certainly any deadly oppression such as which Barnabus and Paul faced daily, that somewhat of a declining sense of urgency has fallen upon the believers of today.

In just these few scriptures I find evidence that several years have passed since the resurrection of Christ, yet the Power of Holy Spirit was still working, building the faith of obedient witnesses and many people were responding to the gospel message.

The mission of Believers in Christ, should be as evident today as was that of the 1st century believers, being Powered mightily by Holy Spirit with such a deep and convicting faith, that the lost people which we encounter daily, themselves will witness the Joy, Hope and Victory in our lives, which only comes from accepting God's promise of salvation through HIS beloved Son.

The Gospel message of Christ has been faithfully preached around the world for over 2000 years, should there not now be an even greater sense of urgency growing in the hearts of believers, one that is Powerful in conviction and spreading increasingly as was recorded in the history of the 1st century church, as these last days herald the return of our triumphant King, Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus?

Father, may YOUR servants be filled with Holy Spirit,
having great faith and courage to speak YOUR Truth!
Convicting Power going forth from YOUR throne,
preparing men's hearts to receive the Lord!!
Strengthen my faith each day for the work
which will bring lost people to know Christ
as Savior, Lord and mighty King!!!

Amen!
