October 2006 Archive

Volume XIII, Page I
Monday October 2, 2006       "Blessing of the Lord!"
"Today and Forever!"
1 Chronicles 17:26-27 (New International Version)
O LORD, you are God! You have promised these good things to your servant. Now you have been pleased to bless the house of your servant, that it may continue forever in your sight; ....
How pleased is God with my service, that HE would bless HIS servant as well as HIS servant's entire house?

Wednesday October 4, 2006       "Praises of God!"
"Seeking what is Holy!"
Romans 2:29b (New International Version)
....and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a man's praise is not from men, but from God.....
It seems easier to settle for praise that can come from the world, yet the Apostle Paul reveals that Praise from God is much more desireable.

Tuesday October 10, 2006       "This is the Day!"
"That our Lord has made!"
Psalm 118:24 (New International Version)
This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Today and every day, should and must be very special for every Believer in Christ regardless of the situation that surrounds them.

Wednesday October 11, 2006       "The Message of Truth!"
"A Visible and Spoken Testimony!"
Acts 28:26 (New International Version)
"Go to this people and say, "You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving."
What an awesome responsibility do Believers in Christ have, telling the world of a Savior that came and gave HIS life for us.

Thursday October 12, 2006       "Uplifting Prayers!"
"God DOES hear us!"
Romans 12:12(New International Version)
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
The Apostle Paul knew all too well the affliction, oppression and persecution for believing in Christ, of HIS guiltless life, persecution for speaking God's TRUTH and of HIS agonizing death and glorious resurrection.

Monday October 16, 2006       "Serving Christ!"
"For HIM to be Praised!"
2 Corinthians 9:13(New International Version)
... men will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else.
The Apostle Paul's letter reminds me that confession of Christ as my Lord and Savior, is the primary service of my obedience.

Tuesday October 17, 2006       "Striving for MORE!"
"HIS Power will manifest!"
1 Timothy 1:18-19 (New International Version)
....I give you this instruction in keeping with the prophecies once made about you, so that by following them you may fight the good fight, holding on to faith.....
How wonderful to have had such a POWERful apostle such as Paul as a mentor to your growing faith in Christ.

Wednesday October 18, 2006       "Mission with Passion!"
"Desiring to Witness!"
1 Timothy 2:3-6 (New International Version)
....God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. .....the testimony given in its proper time.
How will others come to know Christ Jesus who gave HIS life as a ransom, a sacrifice worthy for forgiveness of sin, if those who believe and have accepted HIM by faith are unable or unprepared to give testimony to HIS sacrifice.

Tuesday October 24, 2006       "A Powerful Urgency!"
"Committment of Faith!"
Acts 11:23-24 (New International Version)
....he was glad and encouraged them all to remain true to the Lord with all their hearts. He was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith, and a great number of people were brought to the Lord.
The Apostle Luke wrote much about the early church and those leaders who fearlessly preached the everlasting Gospel of Christ, and despite the overwhelming oppression and sometimes deadly circumstances which they faced daily, continuing faithfully in their mission serving God.

Wednesday October 25, 2006       "Sore Cheeks!"
"Less Pride, More Humility!"
Mark 15:19-20 (New International Version)
....they struck him on the head with a staff and spit on him. Falling on their knees, they paid homage to him. And when they had mocked him,...
The Apostle Mark so colorfully portrays the prideful arrogance and mocking humility of the soldiers who tortured Jesus.

Thursday October 26, 2006       "Persist in Obedience!"
"Seeking HIS Glory!"
Romans 2:5-10 (New International Version)
....because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God's wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed....
Anyone who refuses to repent, according to the Apostle Paul, because of stubbornness, self-seeking glory or simply implicating someone else as the reason behind their lack of obedience, are designing their own judgement and denying that God's wrath against their disobedience will be revealed.

Monday October 30, 2006       "Suffering HIS Name!"
"Brings Eternal Victory!"
Acts 5:41-42 (New International Version)
....rejoicing because they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the Name.....
As the Apostle Luke tells of both sufferings and persecutions that followed the early 1st century believers as they were obedient to serving Christ, I realize more each day, that not that much has changed.

Tuesday October 31, 2006       "False Accusations!"
"Forever Victorious in Christ!"
Acts 24:12 (New International Version)
My accusers did not find me arguing with anyone at the temple, or stirring up a crowd in the synagogues or anywhere else in the city.
The WORD of God plainly says in Revelation 12:11 that the accuser of the brethren has been overcome by the Blood of the Lamb, Christ Jesus, and by the testimony of God's faithful saints who loudly proclaim HIS Eternal WORD.
