"A Comparison!"
As these WORDs given by inspiration of Holy Spirit to the Apostle Paul, I am directed to examine and compare my actions and thoughts, not by the lives others who are no more or less as I am seeking Truth and Righteousness, but towards Christ who IS TRUTH and RIGHTEOUSNESS.
A self-examination according to God's WORD, soon reveals an accurate account of my spiritual state, but my comparison must be of myself as to the conduct and WORK of Christ, instead of someone else.
Like so many, I too could find it much easier to accept, if God would have allowed Paul to compare himself to any other standard of measure, say for instance the Apostle Peter or maybe even Judas.
Rather, it IS God's intended purpose as Paul clearly mentions, I must examine and compare myself to Christ alone, for HE is the only Way to TRUTH, the only Way to Life and for me to select another standard, I would then be confessing ignorance in my understanding of God's Perfect Will for my own life.
Paul stresses emphatically, that God's Spirit must inhabit and permeate me from my head to my feet, for me to have the mind of Christ and to walk like HE desires for me to as an example of HIS Kindness and Love for others.
