"A Rich Understanding of Christ!"
Having heard the phrase, 'You don't see the forest because of the trees!' repeatedly many, many times throughout my life, there is TRUTH to the reality of this old time wearied saying.
Whether too busy or uninterested, focused or wandering, my thoughts sometimes lead me away from understanding the point.
The reason I mentioned that, is to bring out a very difficult lesson, one that the Apostle Paul learned, not by trial and error, but only after being knocked off his "high horse" and struck blind for a couple of days.
In Paul's earlier position as Saul, the persecutor of Believers in Christ, he witnessed the stoning of Stephen, where even with such misguided dignity and grace, he held the coats of those who carried out the punishment which Stephen received for proclaiming Christ Jesus as Savior, Lord and the Son of God.
Seeming to be oblivious or even uninterested to what Stephen was saying that one day in particular, and all the while, there were many other disciples of Christ saying and willing to die for HIM, it was not yet enough to shake Saul(Paul) from his obvious dedication and commitment to what he was so focused and busy doing and being, believing he had already heard and understand the TRUTH.
This Saul, had been taught earlier as a Pharisee, under the watchful eye of one well known and respected teacher and scholar of scripture, Gamaliel, who also had read the WORDs of the Prophet Isaiah,
Paul was well versed in this scripture, but what did it finally take for him to see the TREEs???
Searching out, chasing after, capturing this one, imprisoning that one, beating another one and even watching defiantly as one named Stephen being stoned to death before his very eyes.
Where Saul EVEN heard those Eternal WORDs of TRUTH being uttered from the lips of Stephen, a believer who, full of Holy Spirit, fully understood the mystery of God as he spoke in Acts 7: 55-56,
Would someone please tell me, since I read of this account now after 2000 years, and thanks to the FAITHFUL men of God such as the Apostle Luke, and wonder how so many have turned a deaf ear to the Truth of Christ???
If then, seeing HIM, means living and dying for the sake of Christ, as Stephen and Paul so FAITHfully did under the Power of Holy Spirit,
