These WORDs of Christ which are recorded by the Apostle Matthew, verify the importance of 2 things for me as a Believer, that I am to 'GO' out into the world with the Lamp of HIS WORD, and I must also carry with me the Oil of HIS Spirit, the 'ONE TRUE SOURCE' of fuel necessary for 'Releasing the Light of the Gospel'!

Christ Jesus is teaching HIS Disciples with this parable, as HE prepares them for their mission of 'Declaring Light' into the world dispelling the darkness which hides or cloaks God's Truth from the eyes of man, for it is the darkness that renders their souls unguided and lost.

Defining exaclty who Christ is, and who I am in HIM, the Apostle John records these profound WORDs,

John 8:12 (Amplified Bible)   Once more Jesus addressed the crowd. He said, I am the Light of the world. He who follows Me will not be walking in the dark, but will have the Light which is Life.

As with having a flashlight with weak batteries, this leaves me with a light that is ineffective, and as later on, useless but nontheless still a flashlight.

I know that I must have my 'Lamp' filled with HIS Spiritual 'OIL', and I must also keep HIM as my 'Supply' in 'reSERVE', because Jesus says that the night is long, and I must keep watch, bearing HIS Light for others so they may find their way to HIM.

O'Lord, YOUR Spirit is my Source of FULL POWER, filling and keeping me on YOUR path of Truth! As I walk through each day as YOUR witness, to the world that YOU are Light and Life!! YOUR WORD says that YOU give me Holy Spirit, precious OIL given freely as fuel for my soul!!! I will bear YOUR Light wherever I go, guiding others who are empty and lost to YOU!
