"LOVE River!"
Sometimes my life seems as varied as the many stages of a river, from shallow and stagnant, sometimes adequate and constantly moving and at other times overly full resembling the stage regarded as a flood.
Whenever I gauge the LOVE stage in my life by the Life of Christ Jesus, I find there are times where either the lack of sufficient rain causes a deficiency, resulting in a shallowness which proves useless, and other times where the overflow of an abundance of rain causes a harsh yet cleansing effect.
From a shallow and trickling stream, evidences that a drought of sorts has occured, I find that a deficit in certain areas seems to prove the effects of supply and demand.
Just as the slow and rolling river, meanders its way from the hills and into the valleys and meadows, moving so calmly past tall oaks and fields of thriving grasses and crops, I tend to see only the wasting of such valuable moisture as a passing by of sorts.
Then the river becomes swollen with an abundance of rain, reaching the uppermost limits of its boundaries, sometimes spilling out into those valleys and fields, depositing both nutrients and moisture, but also sweeping away in its path, both those things which are weak and oftentimes unused and of those things which have certain value and are usefull.
From lack to overflow, nonetheless a river in every sense and meaning.
Either the oaks, tall grasses and fields planted which bear crops and fruit are starved by the shallowness and lack, or these are being whisked away by the seemingly devastating effects of flood and overflow.
Liken this with a certain vision of being neither cold nor hot, neither shallow nor flood, simply meandering quietly along, oblivious both to the drought or decadence which are so obvious along the way, winding its way from the mountain to the valley and then fading uselessly into a sea full of despair and wretched stagnation.
Lukewarm,,, seems fitting for the middle stage of a river, neither low nor high, only traversing wastefully along, whatever will be WILL be....
As I take measurement of my LOVE using these WORDs as a gauge, I begin to SEE that a constant and steady 'RAIN', a REIGN falling similarily as God's Spirit did in the Book of Acts, tends to keep the balance leaning obviously towards FLOOD.....
It then becomes evident, what looks like lack to some, then looks sufficient to others, has then become the vile and repulsive state which God says requires rebuke on one side and repentance of the other.
Let HIS Spirit rain, LET HIS Spirit REIGN, it IS ALL about the SUPPLIER of Love, more so of one whose soul is touching and holding tightly to the cursed soil from which the contamination of sin thrives, to where one desires to be transformed and replanted by the River of Life, where God's Love marks with a Eternal boundary that can never be moved or shaken.
