"Pray Believing!"
If Christ Jesus was so adamant and concerned that HE would say these WORDs, them I must realize that God hears me when I pray, and HE WILL even ANSWER me when I am OBEDIENT to ask HIM.
Believing Christ Jesus to speak such TRUTH about Prayer, HE also commands that I must Believe whatever I have asked of God, I WILL RECEIVE.
God answers my prayer according to HIS Purpose and Will for Comfort and Direction, as only a Loving Father would for HIS children.
This verse is just one more Confirmation that God is interested in what my concerns are, and desires for me to fellowship with HIM in these conversations.
Jesus prayed many times and for many things to be accomplished, and HE instructs those who Believe in HIM as HIS disciples to do the very same thing.
Praying without Believing that God will hear and answer, would then seem to be an excersize of some form of ritualistic obligation, rather than seen as TRUE Fellowship with my Lord in a relationship that is both personal and fulfilling.
The Apostle Peter prayed, and God revealed HIS purpose for Salvation of both Jew and Gentile, delivering him as well from chains and imprisonment.
Empowering Peter with Holy Spirit to heal the sick, bring sight to the blind and raise Tabitha from the dead.
The Apostle Paul prayed, and God provided the Power of Holy Spirit to Proclaim the Gospel of Christ to nations that were far from his earthly home.
Beaten severly and left for dead, shipwrecked and lost at sea and biten by poisionous snakes, God deliverd Paul from all these for HIS Purpose and HIS Will.
God teaches the church through men like Peter, Paul and other disciples that
prayer brings answers, where believing is accounted as Faith, and the Righteous men and women who pray WILL hear and see the effects of their Obedience to HIS WORDs.
