"Aroma of VICTORY!"
What are my responsibilities towards God's WORD as a Believer in Christ, is it only to lavish in HIS Excellent Goodness, reaping abundantly those benefits of Blessing and Favor, being merely a recepient of Salvation?
OR, should I be as the Apostle Paul writes to the Corinthian church, a 'sweet fragrance' unto God, a witness and testimony of Christ, an aroma that awakens the senses of those who are perishing, bringing knowledge of HIS Victory from and over death, speaking to men everywhere of HIS Resurrection POWER?
The Good News of Christ Jesus, or more direct and to the point, the Gospel of Christ, is as much about Proclaiming Life and Victory through HIM, to both those who are perishing as it is to those who are as Paul says, ALIVE in HIM having spiritually died to themselves, and have been born as new creatures, by Holy Spirit.
This is the point which Paul makes as he tells his readers of the vast knowledge of God which must be Proclaimed and Declared, yet there are many whose ears have never heard nor have their eyes yet seen, the supernatural and eternal transformation which identifies a Believer from those who are perishing because of this lack of knowledge and understanding,
There is a distinct aroma of a new born baby, birthed, bathed and cleaned up, by the hands of those who are responsible for the immediate care of such, and it is Paul's desire to teach me that this is a responsibility that Believers must also accept and be found Faithful in administering, both to the perishing spiritually as well as those who are Spiritually ALIVE.
Week after week, month after month and year after year, do I find myself basking in God's Presence, bathed in HIS WORD, cleaned up and clothed with HIS Spirit, yet the 'sweet and fragrant aroma' that should as the Apostle Paul says, 'make evident and known to all', the Victorious LIFE that God has provided in Christ, should not be stale nor any less enticing as it must be.
Walking daily through this world filled with every imaginable temptation, trial and trouble, there must be those who will strive to endure, remaining Holy and Righteous, spotless and pure, as God's Spirit anoints us with such a sweet and aromatic fragrance, that those perishing will not only smell HIS Presence upon us, see HIS Blessing in our lives, they will also hear from our lips the Wonderful WORDs of Redeeming Love and Everlasting Life!
