"Continuous ReNEWing of POWER!"
In this letter to the Believers in Ephesus, the Apostle Paul gives invaluable instructions for daily living, as to how critical it is to be continually striving towards Righteousness and Holiness, a 'NEW' nature, regenerated spiritually in God's image and likeness by Holy Spirit.
If only as a human effort, I deliberately awoke each day, taking food and drink for nourishment, putting forth the least effort in excersizing my body and mind, I would soon become weakened physically as well as emotionally, where ultimately I would be unable to perform even the most miniscule of tasks deemes as wholesome and prosperous living.
That is in sharp contrast to the instructions which Paul is writing of, that for me as a Believer, a daily excersizing of my 'NEW' mind and body, where expressing the TRUTH with my neighbor, co-worker or anyone, but mostly everyone I should happen to meet, must be a vital and important part of my everyday LIFE.
Feeding my spirit upon God's WORD, the Bread of Life and the Living Water, I digest the spiritual nourishment provided by Holy Spirit, HIS intended WORK which directly strengthens my mind, my emotions and most importantly, my will or desire to please my Lord in whatever circumstance or situation I may face.
It is from these INSPIRED WORDs of Holy Spirit, given to the Apostle Paul that I must ask, why should I claim that God's WORK of regenerating my mind and spirit towards living Righteous and Holy, only to be considered as a one time feast, when I have spiritual needs each day that must be met with HIS continual and ongoing provision?
Lest I would proclaim God's divine POWER of rebirth as a finished WORK of Holy Spirit only in the lives of those 1st century apostles, prophets and disciples, then leaving me each day as a 'NEW' infant to fend for myself through the rest of my days, denying that HIS POWER IS given continuously and most assuredly by HIS WORD, for the day to day excersize of my Faith in Christ.
Were these WORDs spoken by Christ Jesus, merely spoken and recorded to and for the 1st century Apostles, Prophets and Disciples, that HE would be, and WILL ALWAYS BE, with me, INDWELLING and EMPOWERING me with anything less than the fullest measure of HIS Spirit?
It is now some 2000 years since Christ spoke those WORDs, and I must confess that HIS instructions for 'all of the earth' to hear the Gospel of TRUTH, HIS Promise of Everlasting Life in and through HIM alone, is still an ONGOING WORK of Holy Spirit, yet the vessels that HE desires to use for this mission, seemingly ignore HIS WORDs concerning strength, direction and spiritually emPOWERment by HIS Spirit.
If as Paul says, that my Life IS in Christ, then what does this mean to me SPIRITually, when it is God's WORD who PROMISED me Power and Authority, as evidence of HIS Spirit in every aspect of my LIFE?
It means, that I must Accept and Believe HIM, living each day in Victory, continuously 'ReNEWed' by this same Holy Spirit whom Paul, Peter, James and John were 'Filled' with, accomplishing advancement of the Gospel throughout the earth.
