"A Double Dosage!"
As I was reading this letter written by the Apostle Paul to the Colossian church, I realized that he had used similiar WORDs to comfort and encourage the Ephesians.
Paul during many of his missional journeys throughout the region spoke these WORDs as a 'Double Dose' of God's Divine Plan where my health and well-being comes from just such a prescription as is dispensed for healing both the personal emotions of the believer as well as the corporate emotions of the church.
To me it becomes obvious that Paul understood the role he and his fellow Believers were called upon to fulfill, as Ambassadors and Witnesses of God's Purpose and Will to the Believers in all the 1st century churches, as well as for today's churches.
Although Paul is referring here to a fellow believer named Tychicus as he also did in Ephesians 6:22, I rather choose to consider the spiritual intent of both of his letters as a reference to Holy Spirit.
As God's Spirit Comforts and Encourages me during times of certain dis-comfort and dis-couragement, mentioned by Paul in his other letters,
I must declare that Christ Jesus came only ONCE to deliver me from every one of these sufferings, but HE chose Paul to remind me twice of HIS Provision.
Therefore, having Knowledge of God's Will without any committment to the Application, seems very similiar to believers having the cure for spiritual sickness and death, yet refusing to apply HIS WORDs which are written for the 'soul' purpose of reconciling and restoring vitality to the hearts and minds of the citizens of HIS Kingdom.
