Thursday May 1, 2008       "HIS DownPOURing LOVE!"
Acts 10:45 (Amplified)
And the believers from among the circumcised [the Jews]
who came with Peter were surprised and amazed, because the free gift of the Holy Spirit
had been bestowed and poured out largely even on the Gentiles.
As I read the many times in God's WORD where HE lavishes the Gift of Holy Spirit upon Believers, I too am surprised and amazed, but in a different way than what is being described in this scripture.

Friday May 2, 2008       "Garden Variety!"
1 Corinthians 3:9 (Amplified)
For we are fellow workmen (joint promoters, laborers together) with and for God;
you are God's garden and vineyard and field under cultivation, [you are] God's building.
Contained within God's WORD are many references used as identifiers of my relationship with my heavenly Father.

Monday May 5, 2008       "Glorious ONE!"
John 17:5 (Amplified)
(Jesus speaking) And now, Father, glorify Me along with Yourself and restore Me
to such majesty and honor in Your presence as I had with You before the world existed.
God's WORD reveals a wellspring of TRUTHs about many things, mainly about HIS longing to have fellowship with HIS greatest creation.

Tuesday May 6, 2008       "UnSHACKLED!"
Romans 1:1 (Amplified)
FROM PAUL, a bond servant of Jesus Christ (the Messiah) called to be an apostle,
(a special messenger) set apart to [preach] the Gospel (good news) of and from God,
Some years ago, I listened to a radio program called 'UnShackled', the outline of this program centered around the personal testimonies of people who had experienced 'LIFE' changing encounters with Christ, FOREVER changing not only their lives but their ETERNITY as well.

Wednesday May 7, 2008       "Charge of a Witness!"
2 Timothy 4:1-5 (NIV)
In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; ...
The Apostle Paul confined in a prison in Rome, writes of himself as a prisoner to the Gospel of Christ Jesus.

Thursday May 8, 2008       "Continuous Flow!"
John 7:37-39 (Amplified)
Now on the final and most important day of the Feast,
Jesus stood, and He cried in a loud voice,
If any man is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink!.....
The Apostle John and many other disciples of Jesus were attending the Feast, where they presumed Christ would reveal HIMself as their long awaited Messiah and King.

Friday May 9, 2008       "NEWS Release!"
Luke 7:22 (Amplified)
So He replied to them, Go and tell John what you have seen and heard:
the blind receive their sight, the lame walk,
the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up,
and the poor have the good news (the Gospel) preached to them.
There are few WORDs that give more Encouragement, than these spoken by Christ, delivered by the lips of those who came asking Jesus about HIS anointing as Messiah and Redeemer.

Monday May 12, 2008       "Food for LIFE!"
John 6:58 (Amplified)
(Jesus speaking) This is the Bread that came down from heaven.
It is not like the manna which our forefathers ate, and yet died;
he who takes this Bread for his food shall live forever.
The Apostle John records these WORDs of Christ spoken while HE was teaching in the city of Capernaum, reminding HIS listeners of the food which Father God provided for the Israelites during their journey in the wilderness.

Tuesday May 13, 2008       "Days of Favor!"
Acts 20:32 (Amplified)
And now [brethren], I commit you to God [I deposit you in His charge, entrusting you
to His protection and care]. And I commend you to the Word of His grace [to the commands and counsels and promises
of His unmerited favor]. It is able to build you up and to give you [your rightful] inheritance
among all God's set-apart ones (those consecrated, purified, and transformed of soul).
When reading Luke's account of the Apostle Paul encouraging the brethren, I realize the intensity of God's Favor, as Holy Spirit transforms and purifies my soul, where before I had been destitute and void of the Promised Inheritance.

Wednesday May 14, 2008       "Birthed in Christ!"
Titus 3:5 (Amplified)
He saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we had done,
but because of His own pity and mercy, by [the] cleansing [bath]
of the new birth (regeneration) and renewing of the Holy Spirit,
To the carnal mind, the Thoughts and Ways of God are far from understanding, deeply hidden within the LIFE of HIS WORD, Christ Jesus.

Thursday May 15, 2008       "Expansion!"
Hebrews 10:22 (Amplified)
Let us all come forward and draw near with true (honest and sincere) hearts
in unqualified assurance and absolute conviction engendered by faith (by that leaning
of the entire human personality on God in absolute trust and confidence in His power,
wisdom, and goodness), having our hearts sprinkled and purified from a guilty (evil) conscience
and our bodies cleansed with pure water.
The writer of Hebrews provides a description of what Believers see upon entering into the Holiest of Holies, as pure and undefiled vessels, cleansed by Holy Spirit for Obedient service in the very Presence of God.

Monday May 19, 2008       "Gladly Welcomed!"
Luke 8:40 (Amplified)
Now when Jesus came back [to Galilee], the crowd received and welcomed Him gladly,
for they were all waiting and looking for Him.
Luke records that crowds of people were looking and waiting expectantly for Jesus, and upon seeing HIM they Rejoiced and Gladly Received HIM.

Tuesday May 20, 2008       "Divisive UProar!"
Acts 23:9 (Amplified)
Then a great uproar ensued, and some of the scribes of the Pharisees' party stood up
and thoroughly fought the case, [contending fiercely] and declaring,
We find nothing evil or wrong in this man. But if a spirit or an angel
[really] spoke to him--? Let us not fight against God!
Luke records a great division among the people who had gathered to hear the Apostle Paul defend his testimony of Christ and of HIS Resurrection.

Wednesday May 21, 2008       "Way of Excellence!"
Luke 16:15 (Amplified)
But He said to them, You are the ones who declare yourselves just and upright before men,
but God knows your hearts. For what is exalted and highly thought of among men
is detestable and abhorrent (an abomination) in the sight of God.
These WORDs affirm what is detestable in the sight of God, exalting a wicked and unrighteous lifestyle, all the while opposing the LIFE of Holiness and Righteousness portrayed by Christ Jesus.

Thursday May 22, 2008       "Refreshing Moments!"
2 Corinthians 4:17 (Amplified)
For our light, momentary affliction (this slight distress of the passing hour)
is ever more and more abundantly preparing and producing and achieving for us
an everlasting weight of glory [beyond all measure, excessively surpassing all comparisons
and all calculations, a vast and transcendent glory and blessedness never to cease!],
From his own experience of great distress, the Apostle Paul encourages me to continue pressing forward, into the Glory and Presence of God.

Friday May 23, 2008       "Sow and Reap!"
Galatians 6:9 (Amplified)
And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint
in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season
we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint.
Every WORD of encouragement spoken brings forth a renewed HOPE in God's Promises, and the Apostle Paul was quick to point out my need to be steadfast and sure in my knowledge of Christ.

Tuesday May 27, 2008       "Visionaries!"
Acts 16:10 (Amplified)
And when he had seen the vision, we [including Luke] at once endeavored to go on into Macedonia,
confidently inferring that God had called us to proclaim the glad tidings (Gospel) to them.
Soon after Pentecost, many of the 1st century disciples had left Jerusalem to Proclaim the Gospel, some like Paul and Luke journeyed to places that only God could lead them to.

Wednesday May 28, 2008       "LOVE's Greater Reward!"
2 Corinthians 12:15 (Amplified)
But I will most gladly spend [myself] and be utterly spent for your souls.
If I love you exceedingly, am I to be loved [by you] the less?
The Apostle Paul was quite straightforward in his appeal to the Corinthian Believers, explaining that his humanity was of no less importantance than was his spiriutal conviction that they receive the Gospel message without error or compromise.

Thursday May 29, 2008       "Proven WORKs!"
John 3:2 (Amplified)
Who came to Jesus at night and said to Him, Rabbi, we know and are certain
that You have come from God [as] a Teacher; for no one
can do these signs (these wonderworks, these miracles--and produce the proofs)
that You do unless God is with him.
As recorded in this scripture, many times there arose questions of exactly who Jesus is, and only after seeing the WORKs of God performed did many believe.

Friday May 30, 2008       "Tranquilizing!"
Romans 8:6 (Amplified)
Now the mind of the flesh [which is sense and reason without the Holy Spirit] is death
[death that comprises all the miseries arising from sin, both here and hereafter].
But the mind of the [Holy] Spirit is life and [soul] peace [both now and forever].
As the Apostle Paul explains the difference between the death that result for the thoughts of the carnal mind and of the LIFE which is granted to those whose mind is guided by Holy Spirit, he provides a clever argument concerning Eternity.
