'A Warrior's Daily Journal'Friday October 23, 2009 (5 Cheshvan 5770) "Given POWER to
Live!" 1 Corinthians 2:12 (Amplified Bible)Now we have not received the spirit [that belongs to] the world, but the [Holy] Spirit Who is from God, [given to us] that we might realize and comprehend and appreciate the gifts [of divine favor and blessing so freely and lavishly] bestowed on us by God. The Spirit of which Paul is writing of, is the Power of God to Resurrect and bring forth Life. Having raised Jesus from the grave of death, we as Believers in Christ are raised to Life as well. Adopted as sons of God, we too receive those same Blessings and Promises of Freedom and Favor as did those 1st century disciples.Holy Spirit has a Divine Assignment from God, bestowing HIS Gift of Life into every Believer, revealing, teaching and training us in the Truth of Christ and of the heart of God. Knowing Christ, is to be OBEDIENT to HIM and Accomplishing our Father's Will here on earth, as HIS Will is being DONE throughout heaven. There are some who never fully grasp or understand God's Purpose for their lives, mainly because they fail to accept Holy Spirit as the 'Authority and Presence' of Christ Jesus in their lives. Holy Spirit manifests Power in and through Believers, as we comprehend and realize the reason why God gave us this Gift. Accepting and Appreciating HIM for revealing HIS Grace, which means 'unmerited favor and blessing' of which none are deserving, yet God Loves us and grants us Mercy. Resolving to submit our will to be taught and trained by HIS Spirit, then are we able to fully understand what Paul is saying. Prior to his conversion, Paul already had a 'Great Knowledge' of God, but only after his 'Transformation' did he receive 'Great Understanding and Revelation' through Holy Spirit, about Christ as the Son of God, Savior, Redeemer and Lord. May each one resolve to be continually Obedient to be taught and trained by God's Spirit, a Precious Gift and Blessing from our heavenly Father. O'Lord, purify my heart with YOUR Holy Fire, cleanse my life to be taught daily by YOUR Spirit. YOU have lavished such a Great Gift upon me, that I might speak YOUR Truth with Courage and Boldness. Never leaving me, nor forsaking me, YOU are, my Source and Provision of Life. With Love for those who are lost, YOUR desire for me is tell of YOUR Grace and Mercy. Guide me to do YOUR Will as I am given Power by YOUR Spirit, Amen'A Warrior's Daily Journal'Thursday October 22, 2009 (4 Cheshvan 5770) "Captivated by
Faith!" Luke 22:32 (Amplified Bible)(Jesus speaking) But I have prayed especially for you [Peter], that your [own] faith may not fail; and when you yourself have turned again, strengthen and establish your brethren. Luke writes that Jesus prayed specifically for Peter's Faith, that it would not fail but be firmly established and strengthened, soon to face the many trials that were sure to come. We too face trials daily that are meant for harm, but through our Faith, we remain strong and unmoved, neither shaken nor sifted by them. As God's WORD records the history of the 1st century Believers, we must understand that Christ' prayer still remains valid some 2000 years later. Calling us to Faith which must remain solid and unshakeable. Peter went on to later become that bold and courageous witness, which Christ had urged him to become. We must understand that what Christ prayed, was not only for Peter, but for us as well, to encourage, strengthen and establish HIS WORDs firmly in the hearts of other Believers. It was this same Peter, strengthened by the Power of Holy Spirit, who was later able to see past the bars and chains which imprisoned him. Singing Praises to the Lord for his deliverance and freedom spiritually, despite the fact he was physically chained and shackled. Luke records Peter sharing his Faith in Christ with the jailer and his family, testifying of Christ and his own personal Faith which held him firmly as a 'Captive' to God's WORD. This Good News of 'Deliverance and Freedom' must be proclaimed to everyone, including many who are Believers in Christ, who often struggle in their own Faith. Just as Peter, we are to encourage one another with our testimonies, and declare those WORDs prayed by Christ long ago, remain valid today, firmly establishing and further strengthening us through Holy Spirit.
O'Lord, I will
sing Praises to YOUR Name which is above all names, a song put
upon my lips by YOUR Spirit. My Faith is strengthened each day
by YOUR WORD to stand firm against every trial. Use my lips to
Obediently Proclaim YOUR Message of Deliverance and Freedom to
those held as captives. Bind my heart with YOUR WORDs of Grace
and Mercy, and release me to testify of that Day which is soon
to come, when every knee will bow before YOU, and every tongue
will confess YOU are Lord and King of both heaven and
earth. Amen
"Basket of Fresh
Bread!" Mark
8:4-5 And His
disciples replied to Him, How can anyone fill and satisfy
[these people] with loaves of bread here in [this] desolate
and uninhabited region? And He asked them, How many loaves have you? They said,
Seven. Jesus knew that the seven loaves
of bread were sufficient to feed the four thousand that day,
but HE also knew that feeding them physically was only a
temporary solution to their hunger. Their bellies would be
filled, and a large gathering of the leftovers, would show us
of God's abundant provision with an overflow of exceeding
proportion. Yet it is in the present circumstance which Christ
desires to reveal how a daily portion of 'fresh bread' was
available and necessary, just as a man's spiritual hunger must
be addressed each day. Breaking away from one's own
traditional conviction that having God's WORD 'stored up' from
weeks, months or even years past, will sustain us, we must
look each day into God's 'bread basket' for a fresh and
'unleavened' spiritual meal. As Christ uses the example of
leavened bread, which after even a few hours, becomes stale
and soon loses it's flavor, it is fresh bread that is kneaded
and baked over the Fire of God's Spirit, that will supply our
hearts with much needed nourishment for each day's need. It has been over 2000 years since
Christ revealed HIMself as the 'Bread of heaven', and surely
since that time, millions have been fed both physically and
spiritually by HIS own hands. Even in Jesus' prayer given to
HIS disciples as an example, HIS own WORDs speak clearly
today, 'Give us this day our daily bread'. I purpose in my own
heart, not to be satisfied with yesterday's or even last
week's provision, for I know deep in my spirit that Christ
desires to feed me today and everyday with 'Fresh
Bread'. "Hearts Purged by
FIRE!" 1 Peter
1:7 So that [the genuineness] of
your faith may be tested, [your faith] which is infinitely
more precious than the perishable gold which is tested and
purified by fire. [This proving of your faith is intended] to
redound to [your] praise and glory and honor when Jesus Christ
(the Messiah, the Anointed One) is revealed. Without this process of refining,
there will exist a mixture within many whose hearts will be
weakened, and their Testimony breached. It is here that we
must be reminded of the fact, that this is the same Peter, who
drew his sword in the garden, and cut off the right ear of a
servant of the High Priest. As HIS last miracle, Christ healed
the servant's ear, representing the fact that man's hearing of
the Gospel penetrates deep within one's heart, the WORDs of
Truth which will burn and purge every fear of True Priestly
service. Peter later agonized over having
earlier denied Christ, and through the restoration of God's
Spirit, he became the bold and courageous spokesman for the
Lord that brought thousands to repentance. It is this element
of Faith in the revealed WORD of God, and the process of
refining by Holy Spirit, that produced such a POWERful
Testimony that seared the hearts of those who listened to
Peter at Pentecost. For those who are searching for
purpose in their lives, must be told the Good News. Their ears
are burning with a desire to have Peace and Joy in their
hearts. We are commanded by Christ to reveal HIS Eternal Plan
of Life, having had our own hearts seared by the FIRE of God's
Spirit, purged from every evil, to Advance the Kingdom with
Passion and Purpose. "With a Heart of
Love!" Hebrews 6:9-11 Even though we speak this way, yet in your
case, beloved, we are now firmly convinced of better things
that are near to salvation and accompany it. For God is not
unrighteous to forget or overlook your labor and the love
which you have shown for His name's sake in ministering to the
needs of the saints (His own consecrated people), as you still
do. But we do [strongly and earnestly] desire for each of you
to show the same diligence and sincerity [all the way through]
in realizing and enjoying the full assurance and development
of [your] hope until the end,
We have been called as Believers to be
witnesses of both Truth and Righteousness, bearing the Good
News of Hope, deposited deep into our hearts by Holy Spirit, a
burning desire to Love and Encourage others to continue
pressing on in diligence and sincerity. How can we fulfil HIS
work, which to us has been appointed, without ourselves having
first experienced HIS deep and continual Love personally? Looking to Christ as the example,
there is undeniable evidence of HIS LOVE for all people
throughout God's WORD. Willingly, Jesus suffered at the hands
of HIS accusers and was crucified on Calvary so that all men
of every nation, could have the opportunity to receive God's
gift of Salvation and a rightful Inheritance as heirs and
joint-heirs with HIM in the Kingdom. We continue not only being mere
witnesses to the Mercy and Grace of our heavenly Father to the
lost, but also as ministers to our fellow brothers and sisters
in Christ, without boundary or measure, diligent to Declare
the unfathomable depths of God's Love and Passion for the
souls of all. May we each daily experience our
Father's heart of Love, and be Faithful to Proclaim HIS Mercy
and Grace without fear or shame.
O'Lord, YOU Faithfully attend to me and all that I
have need of. Through each and every moment of my day, I
experience YOUR deep Love for my soul. Within my spirit I
desire only to please YOU, seeking to be a visible expression
of YOUR Love to others. Of YOUR many gifts, which YOU lavish
upon me through Holy Spirit, guide me as I encourage and
strengthen my brothers and sisters in Christ. I completely
submit my heart to YOU, direct me as a minister of YOUR Grace
and
Mercy, Amen
"Flooding my Soul with
Riches!" Ephesian 3:19 [That you may really come] to know [practically,
through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which
far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you
may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness
of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence,
and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God
Himself]!
Paul, by any 'Measure of the WORD', was a very learned
and intelligent man, rich both in the 'Knowledge and Fullness'
of God. What Holy Spirit did in his life, HE is 'NOW DOING' in
our lives as Believers in Christ today. In times when we are
'weak in the flesh', we are often hesitant to admit that there
are many situations where we have been short on 'Patience'.
This patience translates as 'Love' for those who, day after
day, continue living as though nothing in life will ever
change nor improve concerning their current situation. Knowing what Christ did for us, in
'HIS Great Love', is something seemingly difficult to relate
or explain to someone else who has never been loved. Whether
it is by 'Choice' or ignorance of God's Love, mankind's need
for continual and constant affirmation and assurance, is
reason enough for us to remain Obedient and Love them like
Christ DOES. What Paul experienced, what we are
experiencing and what other Believers experience of 'God's
Love', is molded and shaped through our continual, constant
and ongoing relationship with Christ. The 'Flooding' of our
soul with this 'Love of Christ', is mentioned many times in
Paul's writings. But somehow this is still never enough
for some to understand and nor even vaguely comprehend. Through the 'Transformation'
taking place as Holy Spirit works in our lives, does this
increasing 'Knowledge of God', flood our hearts(minds) with
thoughts and 'Memories' which are sufficient and aptly able to
'Carry and Sustain' us through some of the most difficult
times. It is these WORDs of Christ Jesus to which we must
desparately cling to, 'I will be with you
always, even to the end of the age'. Sadly, many will
never understand nor experience this, without first
submitting their hearts completely to Holy Spirit.
For God's 'Comforter and Counselor' is our teacher
and quide, living through each of us daily, where
we are called to be both Witnesses and recepients
of God's unimaginable Love.
O'Lord, YOUR Love I can always know, through YOUR Spirit, I
must always show. Nothing compares to the 'Memory' of Calvary,
where YOU gave YOUR Life to set me free. I must share this
Truth with all who would desire, to be 'Loved'. Even to the
very end of my days. Raise me up as an Ambassador and Delegate
of YOUR Kingdom. A Warrior in YOUR army, crying HOLY! HOLY!
HOLY! Lord Almighty. Worthy of all Praise, Honor and Glory.
YOU my 'Rod and my Staff', and upon YOU alone will I Lean and
share my Love for, Forever
and Amen
"A Blend of WORD
and Spirit!" 2
Peter 3:18 But grow
in grace (undeserved favor, spiritual strength) and
recognition and knowledge and understanding of our Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ (the Messiah). To Him [be] glory (honor,
majesty, and splendor) both now and to the day of eternity.
Amen (so be it)! Now as Peter finalizes this letter
to Believers, he offers both an invitation and a warning,
expressing God's desire for spiritual unity among Believers,
and warning against our becoming complacent with learning the
depths of TRUTH and Righteousness. Peter mentions the Apostle
Paul and his letters to other Believers, which many found too
difficult to understand, all the while urging Believers to
continually seek guidance into understanding through God's
Spirit. We must realize how God took these
two men, imperfect yet repentant and submissive to Holy
Spirit. Both equally tried through persecutions and trials,
and then used each mightily to advance the Gospel message. How
God blended the fullness of HIS WORD along with an abundance
of HIS Spirit, Peter and Paul were transformed into bold,
charismatic and courageous WITNESSES. God in HIS Sovereignty chose these
men as visible manifestations of HIS Power, moving upon
them in their weaknesses, strengthening them by HIS Grace and
granting them increased knowledge and understanding through
HIS Spirit. We too must diligently desire to be 'Blended
Spiritually' by God as these two men were, submissive to HIS
Purpose and Will, to be used mightily for HIS Glory, Honor and
Praise in the days ahead. "Divinely
Dependent!" John
3:21 (Jesus speaking)
But he who practices truth [who does what
is right] comes out into the Light; so that his works may be
plainly shown to be what they are--wrought with God [divinely
prompted, done with God's help, in dependence upon
Him]. John so accurately records the
Diety and Divinity of Jesus, as God's only begotten Son, and
while Jesus speaks of those who accept HIM and believe HIS
testimonty, they become messengers of this same Gospel.
Courageously declaring HIS Fullness and Power with Divine
Authority, relying completely upon God's assistance and
direction. As Christ teaches, those who
practice TRUTH and walk daily in Love, will bring others out
of the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of HIS Marvelous
Light, an undeniable manifestation of HIS Purpose for those
who represent HIM in the earth. The more knowledge one receives of
Christ Jesus through the reading of HIS WORD and through
revelation given by Holy Spirit, the more understanding we
gain of who we are to HIM, and by depending solely upon HIM we are
reminded that as HE Lives in us, IN HIM are we to Live. New Life in Christ is an inside
job, a WORK that can only accomplished by HIS Spirit, the
continuing and ongoing transformation that WILL yield an
abundant harvest of souls, pleasing fruit brought into the
Eternal Kingdom of God. "Worshipers
Arise!" Acts
13:15 After the reading of the Law and
the Prophets, the leaders [of the worship] of the synagogue
sent to them saying, Brethren, if you have any word of
exhortation or consolation or encouragement for the people,
say it.
As Believers in Christ offer Praises to
our Creator, for whom 'All Praises Belong', and as HIS
Glorious and Holy Presence is revealed, our Worship of God
then becomes a corporate and unified Proclaimation of HIS
Majesty and
Rule. Christ Jesus spoke these WORDs as the
Samaritan woman drew water from the well, John 4:23 A time will come, however, indeed it is
already here, when the true (genuine) worshipers will worship
the Father in spirit and in truth (reality); for the Father is
seeking just such people as these as His worshipers.
Acknowledging that God's Spirit
now inhabits the hearts of Believers, fulfills the 1st
part of what Christ reveals to us about TRUE(genuine)
Worshipers. Jesus came as a man, and as God in the 'flesh', it
is our 'Praises' to a Holy God that removes the 'flesh'
attitude from our hearts, a condition which restricts us from
entering into the Holiest of Holies, a very sacred place where
we desire to intimately Worship HIM in HIS Glorious and
Majestic Presence. Holy Spirit is God's 'Spirit of Worship',
requiring that our bodies be offered as a 'living sacrifice'.
Paul brings to our remembrance
this 'Truth', Romans
12:1 I APPEAL to you
therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the
mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies
[presenting all your members and faculties] as a living
sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to
God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service
and spiritual worship. Unless the 1st condition is met as
Jesus explained, then the 2nd requirement is unattainable, and
as in the case of the Samaritans, it would only be a
carnal(foolish) excersize to think otherwise. For TRUE
Worshipers it is through Christ, as HE is 'TRUTH', where we
also come to understand that HE is THE 'WORD', as HE now
speaks clearly and directly to us through Holy Spirit into our
'spirit'. The 'Call' to ARISE, comes from
the traditional Hebrew ceremony of Tabernacle Worship, that
whenever God's Holy Presence descends into HIS 'earthly'
dwelling place, then TRUE fellowship with God begins, and as
our 'High Priest' Christ Jesus Proclaims, 'Worshipers
ARISE!' Clearly it is Luke's intent as he writes in the
Book of Acts, to convey and REVEAL the 'Spiritual'
understanding of what Christ meant, as HE explains how the
heart of every Believer 'stands' in TRUE Worship of the KING
of kings.
O'Lord, will I be able to speak at all, when I
stand in YOUR Presence? Or to my knees will I fall, I can only
imagine what it will be like. Surrounded by YOUR Glory, my
mouth will be filled, with YOUR Praises, and my eyes will see
only YOU. What will YOU smell O'Lord, as I come before YOU? As
I sacrifice my flesh to be burned upon that altar, has my life
become a sweet fragrance in YOUR nostrils? Exhort YOUR people
Father, that YOUR Name alone be Exalted forever. Worshipers
ARISE! Truth and Spirit beckon us, 'COME, and gaze upon HIS
Glory', Amen
"The Valued
Soul!" Acts
20:32 And now [brethren], I commit you to God [I
deposit you in His charge, entrusting you to His protection
and care]. And I commend you to the Word of His grace [to the
commands and counsels and promises of His unmerited favor]. It
is able to build you up and to give you [your rightful]
inheritance among all God's set-apart ones (those consecrated,
purified, and transformed of soul). As Luke records,
Paul leaves no room for doubt, of the Value of our souls,
placing each of us as Believers, in the care of charge of God.
There is no other place of everlasting solace, than to be
hidden in Christ, where our hearts are nourished and developed
by Holy Spirit. This knowledge no longer remains a mystery, to
those who surrender themselves completely to the Refiner's
Fire. Purchased by the Precious
of Blood of Christ Jesus, each person who accepts
HIM, renounces the sentence of death and eternal separation
linked to earthly wealth, and as Paul states, presses
Faithfully upward for an Inheritance that surpasses everything
our hearts desire for. Choosing rather the incorruptible over
the corruptible, the perishing for the everlasting. It is in this age
of Kingdom living, that sharing 'wealth' becomes more than
'food and drink', or 'houses and land', but of the Peace and
Joy that is given as an Inheritance of God's Spirit. Nothing
else should be valued any greater, than being joined to the
Family of God through Christ Jesus. Our earthly mission is to
share this 'wealth of knowledge' with others, investing
everything we are in Christ through Holy Spirit, into the
advancement and establishment of God's Kingdom in the hearts
of those who are so blindly indebted to things both carnal and
perishable. "Adorning the Bride's
Heart!" 1 Peter
3:4 But let it be
the inward adorning and beauty of the hidden person of the
heart, with the incorruptible and unfading charm of a gentle
and peaceful spirit, which [is not anxious or wrought up, but]
is very precious in the sight of God.
As Peter wrote these WORDs, he
was sharing an Understanding of a Believer's heart, one that
is adorned with God's Spirit of Gentleness and Peace. God's
WORD tells us that Christ Jesus was tempted by every form of
evil that is common to man, yet HE remained Faithful and
Obedient to HIS mission, fulfilling the purpose for which HE
came to earth. Jesus, being that one and only sacrifice found
to be worthy and acceptable in God's sight, whereby through
HIS death and resurrection, all might know HIS Provision
of Salvation, Abundance of Life and receive God's Promised
Holy Spirit for guidance and further instruction in our daily
lives. That
Peace, Gentleness and Love we have received, are
spiritual adornments which we must desire most from HIM, them
being a portion of HIS Gifts through HIS Spirit. As Peter and
the other disciples walked alongside the King of Glory, it was
not until later did he and the others receive God's Spirit as
evidence of their transformation. Then they fully understood
Christ' mission and the purpose HE desired to accomplish in
and through their lives. Every
Believer has been Promised by God, that each would
receive HIS Spirit as our Source of Power and Life, being
lavished with those very same Gifts of 'Spiritual Jewelry'. We
must 'Wear' them within our heart, so that those who are
'spiritually naked' and are living outside the Kingdom of God,
may one day find HIM and receive the incorruptible adornments
of God's Holy Spirit. Where the Bride of Christ will one day
be presented by our Lord, as pleasing and precious into our
heavenly Father's Glorious Presence.
